The Austrian Centre for Country of Origin & Asylum Research and Documentation, the department of the Austrian Red Cross running ecoi.net, was founded 10 years ago. It has since provided independently, neutrally and objectively researched information on countries of origin of asylum seekers to all parties involved in refugee status determination procedures.
Our search engine now considers documents containing English and German terms related to your search terms. This will increase the number of relevant results. This has been made possible by linking a thesaurus to our search engine.

The Researcher is published quarterly by the Refugee Documentation Centre (RDC) in Ireland. It is a publication which combines academic papers, summaries of caselaw, guides to new legislation, reports of conferences, articles on RDC services and items of country of origin information.
Since going online in 2001 ecoi.net became the most comprehensive public and free of charge portal of country of origin information for all parties involved in refugee status determination procedures. ecoi.net stands for quality and currency. Currently the portal is updated with more than 1,200 documents per month.
