Advisory report on COI for the Dutch government

The Dutch Advisory Committee on Migration Affairs in July released an extensive report with recommendations on the use of COI. For the reports, current practices in Austria, Poland and the UK have been examined along with the Netherlands'.

You can read the report (in English) at the following address:

Advisory Committee on Migration Affairs: Information and Assessment; Advice on the Use of Country of Origin Information in the Asylum Procedure, 23 July 2020

There is also a brief response by the Dutch government available.

The Advisory Committee on Migration Affairs (ACVZ) is an independent advisory body established by law. The Committee advises the government and parliament on migration. The Dutch Minister for Migration has asked the ACVZ for advice on how the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) can best make use of other sources of COI, in the absence of an Official Country Report by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
