Religious disturbances in which five people
died were reported in Jalingo, the capital city of Taraba state on
the weekend of 14-15 March 1992 (Africa Research Bulletin
1-31 March 1992, 10512). About 100 people also lost their lives
during ethnic clashes between the Tiv and Jukun communities in
Taraba state in February 1992 (Ibid., 1-29 February 1992,
10471). For further information on religious riots in Taraba state,
please refer to the attached documents. Additional and/or
corroborating information is currently unavailable to the DIRB in
Ottawa.
