Information on a protest by taxi drivers in September 1990 and the arrest of the executive of the Adabraka Taxi Drivers' Co-operative Transport Society (ATDCTS) [GHA10288]

According to a representative of the International Labour Office (ILO) in Ottawa, the Freedom of Association Branch has not received any complaint or request concerning an alleged incident in the taxi industry (11 Feb. 1992).

However, he added, for insight into the difficulties that surround the trade union system in Ghana, one should refer to the comments contained under Convention 87 in the 1991 Report of the Committee of Experts, attached (1991, 176).

Additional information on the above subject could not be found among the sources currently available to the IRBDC in Ottawa.
