Information on whether USSR passports were issued by authorities in Estonia after the dissolution of the USSR [EST11455]

There is no information specific to this topic currently available to the IRBDC. However, please note the following.

The Consul General of Estonia in Toronto and an official at the Mission of Estonia at the United Nations in New York indicated in telephone interviews on 5 August 1992 that Estonia began issuing passports as of July 1992. Estonian passports are available to those who are at least 16 years of age. USSR passports remain valid until 31 December 1992.
