During a telephone interview on 18 July
1995, a member of the Constitutionalist Movement of Iran-Front Line
in Eastern Canada in Toronto provided the following
information.
The Iranian Monarchist Council of Canada
(IMCC), also known as Shora-e Saltanat-talaban-e Iran dar
Kanada, was founded in 1988. It advocates political struggle
against the Iranian regime. The IMCC leader is Nasser Gobadpour,
who is also the leader of the Constitutionalist Movement of
Iran-Front Line in Eastern Canada, also known as Sazeman-e
Mashrote-khahan-e Iran, "Khate Moghadam," Shakh-e Sharghe
Kanada. The latter is also a monarchist organization which is
independent from the IMCC and has branches in other countries.
These organizations, whose headquarters are in London, are not yet
registered in Canada, but steps have been taken for their
registration.
The two mentioned organizations seek the
overthrow of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the re-establishment of
constitutional monarchy led by Reza Shah II, the enforcement of the
international human rights charter and the guarantee of personal
and social freedoms for Iranians.
The attached press release of the
Constitutionalist Movement of Iran-Front Line, which refers to a
recent assassination attempt on Nasser Gobadpour, might be
useful.
