Information since January 1996 on whether a male Iranian who married a Turkish citizen in Turkey in the mid-1980s and who has not resided in Turkey since then has a right to Turkish citizenship, whether his right to Turkish citizenship is influenced by the presence of two children from the marriage (one was born in Turkey), and whether the children have a right to Turkish citizenship, could not be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.
