Information on Carlos Amaya who was elected to the National Assembly in 1991, including whether he was based in Sensuntepeque between 1988 and 1997, on his current influence within the Alianza Republicana Nacionalista (ARENA) party, the military and the country in general, and on any reports that he was linked to death squads [SLV27779.E]

Information on the above-mentioned subjects is limited among the sources consulted by the DIRB.

In a 30 September 1997 telephone interview with the DIRB, an ARENA party representative at the Legislative Assembly in San Salvador stated that Carlos Amaya is no longer a National Assembly deputy.
