National Guard (Nicaragua: Revolution in the Family, p. 60).
Various reports indicate numerous farms, cooperatives and rural
facilities in Nicaragua have been the targets of attack by "contra"
forces during the recent armed conflict. For a general overview of
attacks against rural farms and facilities as well as their
vehicles, please find attached a copy of Human Rights in
Nicaragua: August 1987 - August 1988 (Washington, D.C. :
Americas Watch, 1988), pages 104-114, and pages 80-83 of Human
Rights in Nicaragua: Reagan, Rhetoric and Reality (Americas
Watch, 1985). These and other sources available at your regional
Documentation Centre, including press clippings and previous
responses to information requests, should provide a general
overview of the subjects related to your information request.
