during a 1 August 1996 telephone interview with a professor of
political science at the Royal Military College in Kingston.
The source stated that it is common

The following information was provided
during a 1 August 1996 telephone interview with a specialist on
Iran in England.
The source stated that it is common
practice for people to carry duplicates of their driver's licences
and identity cards. The replacement of a lost document can be
tedious and people carry duplicates in case they lose their
originals. The duplicate has no legal value. The source added that
it is very difficult to estimate the time it would take to replace
a lost driver's licence or identity card.
This Response was prepared after
researching publicly accessible information currently available to
the DIRB within time constraints. This Response is not, and does
not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular
claim to refugee status or asylum.
