As indicated in previous responses dealing
with countries other than Ecuador and in the attached documents,
the Assemblies of God church is a Pentecostal institution founded
earlier this century by two Swedish nationals. Please find attached
several documents that contain information on Pentecostal churches,
the Assemblies of God and religion in Ecuador, although none of the
documents contain detailed information on the situation of the
Assemblies of God or its followers in Ecuador. Among the
attachments is the copy of a special issue of Latinamerica
Press on "the Evangelical tide" in Latin America, which
contains a number of references to the Assemblies of God. Please
note that Latinamerica Press, as noted in the small print of
the publication's back cover, is published by a non-profit
organization whose established purpose is to report on the Roman
Catholic church.
