Due to the many factors that can enter into
consideration regarding the process of nationality attribution, the
DIRB cannot make any statement on whether children born in India of
Tibetan exiles who fled China in 1959, and who never recognized
China's authority over Tibet, would be considered citizens of China
by the Chinese government.
Attached is a copy of the Nationality Law
of People's Republic of China.
This response was prepared after
researching publicly accessible information currently available to
the DIRB within time constraints. This response is not, and does
not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular
claim to refugee status or asylum. Please find below the list of
sources consulted in researching this information request.
