Information on a 30 November 1996 political
rally in Kumasi could not be found be found among the sources
consulted by the DIRB.
However, attached are articles that refer
to a 1 December 1996 clash between National Democratic Congress
(NDC) supporters and New Patriotic Party (NPP) members at Old Tafo,
a suburb of Kumasi. The articles state that one NDC supporter was
lynched NPP members during the clash.
This Response was prepared after
researching publicly accessible information currently available to
the DIRB within time constraints. This Response is not, and does
not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular
claim to refugee status or asylum. Please find below the list of
