Whether there are any reports of intimidation, harassment, arrests or punishment of Christians' children by the Public Security Bureau (PSB) or other Chinese authorities (2000 to October 2004) [CHN42975.E]

The Communications Director of the New York City-based non-governmental organization Human Rights in China reported in correspondence to the Research Directorate that one of her colleagues in contact with the field in China mainland "has not heard of children of Christians being arrested or punished by the authorities" (8 Oct. 2004).

No additional and/or corroborating information on the treatment of Christians' children by the Public Security Bureau (PSB) or other Chinese authorities could be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim for refugee protection.
