Information on the importance given to the study of Judaism and the Torah (Jewish holy book) inelementary and secondary schools [ISR11970]

According to an information officer at the Embassy of Israel in Washington, the study of Judaism and the Torah is part of the educational system of Israel (27 Nov. 1992). The information officer added that there are two types of school in Israel, one is secular, the other religious (Ibid.).

The DIRB is awaiting written information related to this subject from the Embassy of Israel and a specialist on Israel at York University in Toronto. The information will immediately be forwarded to your Regional Documentation Centre upon receipt.
