December 01, 2010
Afghan police have accused Taliban militants of kidnapping seven Afghan deminers in Nangarhar Province near the border with Pakistan.
The border-police chief for Nangarhar Province, General Aminullah Amarkhail, said armed men attacked and kidnapped 16 deminers in the Momand Dara district, but hours later released nine of them.
The deminers work for the Afghan-based Organization for Mine Clearance and Afghan Rehabilitation.
