No information on youth gangs in
Coatepequet, Huehuetenango, could be found among the sources
consulted by the Research Directorate. Please note that in a 16
September 1999 telephone interview, an employee at the National
Geographic Institute (Instituto Geográfico Nacional) in
Guatemala City stated that there is no municipality called
Coatepequet in the department of Huehuetenango, but that there is
one called Coatepeque in the department of Quetzaltenango. He added
that if he knew whether a place called Coatepequet was a small town
or a locality in Huehuetenango, he could carry out further
research.
This Response was prepared after
researching publicly accessible information currently available to
the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is
not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any
particular claim to refugee status or asylum. Please find below the
list of additional sources consulted in researching this
Information Request.
