Further to the information provided in Response to Information Request CHL25423.E of 4 December 1996, the rector of the Universidad Catolica del Maule in Talca (also known as the Catholic University at Talca) stated that there were no military or guerrilla incursions at the university in 1986 (7 Jan. 1997). The rector added that it is with certainty that he can state (puedo asegurar a Ud....) no military or guerrilla incursion has taken place at the Universidad Catolica del Maule at the time indicated in your original Information Request (September 1986) or at any other time (ibid.).
