Roadside Bomb Kills At Least Two In Balochistan

A roadside bomb apparently targeting a Pakistani government militia has killed at least two people and injured at least 10 in southwestern Balochistan Province.

A senior police official told RFE/RL's Radio Mashaal on November 13 that explosives strapped to a bicycle were detonated by remote control.

The blast hit a convoy of the paramilitary Frontier Corps as it passed near a major road in the provincial capital, Quetta.

The explosion badly damaged a vehicle carrying the militia members.

No one has claimed responsibility for the bombing.

Balochistan is plagued by Taliban and Islamist militant attacks, sectarian violence between Sunni and Shi'ite Muslims, and a regional insurgency waged by separatists.
