IRB – Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (Autor)
According to the author of Mariages et
régimes matrimoniaux étrangers, there is no such
thing as "divorce by mutual consent" and "limited divorce" in
Romania (Groffier 1987, 124). The same source indicates that a
tribunal decides whether or not to terminate of a marriage
(Ibid.)
This response was prepared after
researching publicly accessible information currently available to
the DIRB within time constraints. This response is not, and does
not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular
claim to refugee status or asylum.
