No information on a group called Vedanta is presently available to the IRBDC in Ottawa. The 1982 Amnesty International Report, however, mentions the fact that Latvian nationalists and other people who had committed "anti-Soviet" crimes were condemned to internal exile or imprisonned in 1981-1982 (Amnesty International, Report 1982, London: AI, p.297-303).
