Further to the information already available from previous Responses to Information Requests, Amnesty International recently stated that Hondurans who refuse to perform military service face "possible imprisonment" (January 1991, Annex 2). Additional recent (1991-1992) references on penalties for avoidance or desertion from military service in Honduras could not be found among the sources currently available to the DIRB.
