Information on discrimination against ethnic Lebanese in Sierra Leone [SLE9901]

For information on the above subject, please see attached previous Responses to Information Requests SLE1813 and GIN8808 and their attachments. In addition, please find attached some media reports on the Lebanese community in Sierra Leone.

In addition to the above, according to a source familiar with political events in Sierra Leone, the Lebanese community residing in Sierra Leone is not currently subject to systematic discrimination (3 Feb. 1992).

Additional and/or corroborating information is currently unavailable to the IRBDC in Ottawa.
