Suspected U.S. Missile Strike Kills At Least Five In Pakistan

January 07, 2011

Pakistani intelligence officials say a U.S. drone is suspected of firing missiles at a vehicle in northwestern Pakistan, killing at least five alleged militants.

The officials said the attack occurred in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan.

The identities of the suspected militants were not immediately known.

North Waziristan is part of Pakistan's tribal region near the Afghan border, which is almost entirely dominated by the Taliban and a variety of militant groups.
