A Xinhua News Agency article dated 6 April
1997 refers to a curfew being imposed as a result of an increase in
inter-clan conflict in Afgoe District. The clans mentioned were
Habar Gidir, Garre, Murusadeh and Galadi.
According to an article carried by Xinhua
News Agency on 22 July 1996, the Galadi are one of two dominant
clans who participate in the 600 year-old traditional three-day
Festival of Istunka which takes place at "Afgoe District, 30 km
south of Mogadishu."
A BBC article dated 8 April 1985 mentions
Galadi as a border town situated near the Somali border with
Ethiopia.

No additional mention of the Galadi tribe
in a historical or cultural context could be found among the
