According to the 28 August 1994 issue of
the Toronto Star, a spectator claims to have spotted six
Ghanaian track and field athletes, who were to compete in the
Commonwealth Games in Victoria, heading for Montreal and Toronto
from Sudbury, Ontario (A16). For additional information on the
names of the athletes, and on their departure from the Games,
please refer to the attachments. The DIRB is unable to corroborate
this information at the present time.
This response was prepared after
researching publicly accessible information currently available to
the DIRB within time constraints. This response is not, and does
not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular
claim to refugee status or asylum.
