For information on the organization, structure and principles of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the Campaign for Democracy (CD) and other political parties in Nigeria, please refer to the attachment from Political Parties of Africa and the Middle East. The most current information on the SDP is contained in Response to Information Request NGA18919.E of 8 November 1994, which is available at Regional Documentation Centres.

According to Country Reports on Human Rights Practices for 1994, two CD members were arrested on 11 March 1994 but never charged (1995, 191).
