DIRB in Ottawa. According to West Africa (8-14 Oct. 1991,
2626) a noted leader of the 22 April 1990 coup d'etat attempt,
Lieutenant Colonel Antony Nyam, is alleged to have escaped from
Nigeria with the help of "influential Nigerians," but the source
does not specify whether he escaped from Kirikiri Maximum Security
Prison, another prison or was at large in Nigeria before his
defection.
