For information on the above-mentioned subjects please consult the attached translation of a 21 December 1995 facsimile received from Venezuela's military attaché in Washington, DC.

In a 20 December 1995 telephone interview, the military attaché told the DIRB that military service is compulsory for male citizens aged between 18 and 50 years and lasts two years.
