Information on the participation of the
Christ Apostolic Church in the May 1992 riots, whether the church
runs a hospital in Kaduna and whether people were arrested at the
church during the riots is currently unavailable to the DIRB in
Ottawa.
A staff member of the High Commission of
the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Ottawa provided the following
address for the Christ Apostolic Church in Ibadan:
Christ Apostolic Church
Oke Anu Onireke Street
Ekotedo
Ibadan, Nigeria
The staff member indicated that this
address was obtained from a 1984 directory, which is the most
current available to the high commission in Ottawa.
However, a journalist with the African
Concorde in London, England, indicated that there are several
branches of the church in Ibadan, and as a result, it will be
nearly impossible to confirm the address of the church in
Ibadan.
This response was prepared after
researching publicly accessible information currently available to
the DIRB within time constraints. This response is not, and does
not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular
claim to refugee status or asylum.
