The Research Directorate sent a letter to the High Commission for the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in Ottawa requesting a copy of the report of the Special Presidential Lalith Athulathmudali Assassination Commission that was submitted to President Chandrika Kumaratunga on 7 October 1997. The Sri Lankan High Commission has forwarded this request to Colombo.
