BURUNDI: Cleric killed, two wounded in ambush NAIROBI, 12 June (IRIN) - A cleric was killed and two people wounded in an ambush by rebels of the Forces pour la defense de la democratie (FDD) in Burundi's southwestern area of Mutambara, AFP quoted a local official as saying. The female cleric was killed while a civilian and soldier were injured when the car they were driving in from the bishopric of Bururi came under fire from automatic weapons near the shores of Lake Tanganyika. The rebels also stole money from passengers. |
