Information on when the green print in the national ID card's laminate became mandatory [LKA16206.E]

A representative of the high commission for Sri Lanka in Ottawa states that the green print across the Sri Lankan national ID card's laminate is a security feature (13 Jan. 1994). While unable to say exactly when the Sri Lankan government introduced this green print, the representative maintains that it has been a security feature at least since 1987.
