A representative of the Embassy of Jordan
in Ottawa states that a Palestinian whose father was a national of
Jordan and who possesses a Jordanian passport has the right to
return to Jordan (20 Oct. 1992). The representative maintains that
children of Jordanian fathers are considered to be Jordanian
nationals; they can apply for Jordanian passports. The
representative also adds that these children are not required to
have Jordanian mothers as well.
A representative of the Palestine
Information Office in Ottawa states that a Palestinian who
possesses a Jordanian passport has the right to return to Jordan
because that person is considered to be a national of Jordan (20
Oct. 1992). The representative adds that Palestinians who possess
Jordanian travel documents are required to apply for entry visas to
Jordan because they are not considered to be nationals of
Jordan.
