Information on the above-mentioned subject is limited among the sources consulted by the DIRB.

The Nantong Medical College is listed among CERNET's list of "China Universities" in Jiangsu province. However, the DIRB was unable to gain access to the official Nantong Medical College Web site.

In a 19 August 1997 letter sent to the DIRB by electronic mail, an alumni member of Nantong Medical College and a professor with the Department of Physiology at Texas A&M University (TAMU) in College Station, Texas, stated that the college's address is 19 Qixiu Road, Jiangsu, 226001.

An attached 14 August 1989 Xinhua report states that only 30 of 161 graduates of Nantong county medical colleges worked in county and township health facilities after graduation in 1981. The report, however, makes no specific reference to Nantong Medical College (ibid.).

Information on the 1989 student president of Nantong Medical College could not be found among the sources consulted by the DIRB.

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
