The following information was provided
during a 16 November 1998 telephone interview with the Director of
the Foundation for Iranian Studies in Bethesda, Maryland.
The Director stated that the publication
"Hambastegi" (or Union) is a left-wing magazine published in Europe
for the benefit of Iranian refugees. The Director added that he was
not aware whether the publication is also published in Iran.
This Response was prepared after
researching publicly accessible information currently available to
the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is
not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any
particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
