Update to Response to Information Request GBR21527.E of 25 August 1995 on whether British and European passports could have been obtained in 1994 strictly by application and receipt through the mail and without attendance at an issuing office; on the conditions that would have necessitated attendance at an issuing office [GBR21921.E]

A document sent to the DIRB on 11 September 1995 by an official of the British High Commission in Ottawa provided the following information. A United Kingdom passport is equivalent to a European Community passport. Individuals may apply for passports by mail or in person.
