Information on ethnic Moldovans emigrating from the Dniester region to areas where they are a majority [MDA13507]

In its 23 July 1992 issue, the Moscow daily Nezavisimaya Gazeta mentioned that the Headquarters for Civil Defense of Moldova had registered 47,250 "refugees" from the Trans-Dniester region as of 11 July 1992. According to this report, 37,802 of these displaced persons were Moldovans (Ibid.).

No additional and/or corroborating information on the above-mentioned topic is currently available to the DIRB, in Ottawa.
