The attached 2 July 1996 letter, which was faxed to the DIRB on 11 July 1996 by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ottawa, describes the new passports that have been issued since July 1995.

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
