BURUNDI: Two killed in Rumonge NAIROBI, 15 June (IRIN) - A nun and a headmaster were killed in an attack attributed to rebels of the Forces pour la defense de la democratie (FDD) in Rumonge on the shores of Lake Tanganyika on Monday, according to religious sources. Sister Claire Nduwakristu was travelling in a vehicle belonging to the bishopric of Bururi province along with the headmaster, a soldier and the driver. The vehicle was ambushed and the other two were wounded in the attack which the local authorities blamed the FDD. In another incident, three people, including a priest, were killed in another ambush on Saturday, near the southern town of Makamaba. |
