Somali Sports Officials Killed In National Theater Blast

Reports from Somalia say two of the country's top national sports officials are among at least six people who have been killed in a suicide bomb attack by suspected Islamist militants.
 
The attack occurred on April 4 at the newly reopened national theater in the capital, Mogadishu.
 
Officials said the dead included the president of Somalia's Olympic committee and the national football federation president.
 
The Al-Qaeda-linked Al-Shabab militant group has claimed responsibility.
 
The theater closed in the early 1990s as Somalia descended into civil war, and was finally reopened in March.
 
Al-Shabab rebels were pushed out of the capital last year by troops from the African Union, but recently the group has been blamed for a number of bombings and other attacks in Mogadishu.
