Russia Adds Yulia Navalnaya To List Of Terrorists, Extremists

Russia's financial watchdog, Rosfinmonitoring, on July 11 added Yulia Navalnaya, the widow of opposition leader and anti-corruption crusader Aleksei Navalny, to its registry of "terrorists and extremists." Two days earlier, a Moscow court issued an arrest warrant for Navalnaya on a charge of taking part in an extremist group's activities. Navalnaya was also added on July 9 to Russia's wanted list. The move came less than two weeks after Navalnaya was elected to head the Human Rights Foundation, a New York-based nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and protecting human rights around the world.
