As discussed by telephone, the DIRB has requested copies of child protection legislation from social services' departments of four states: Georgia, Massachussetts, New York and Oregon. Copies of the pieces of legislation will be forwarded to you immediately upon receipt by the DIRB.

The Child Protection Service of Georgia advised the DIRB that the children's protection system is being overhauled in that state, and three new pieces of legislation related to the subject are expected to become law by the end of March 1993. The Child Protection Service will wait until the end of the month before sending the DIRB a copy of the new laws.
