Peace accord signed on 30 september 1996 in the town of Zinder, Niger, between the government of Chad and the Mouvement pour la démocratie et le développement (MDD); on the factions of the MDD that have signed the accord; on whether the accord was effective; and on whether a general amnesty for its members was implemented [TCD31234.E]

The only reference to a peace accord between the Chadian government and the Mouvement pour la démocratie et le développement (MDD) which the Research Directorate could find is an 18 October 1996 Radio France Internationale report quotes president Idriss Deby of Tchad who said in an interview that "very recently, the Chadian interior and security minister went to Niger to sign an accord with one of the MDD factions." Deby did not mention during the interview which MDD faction was involved, but stated that the MDD factions were many and that "besides Djidi Hussein's MDD sponsored by Hissein Habre, there are the groups led by Moussa Medella, by Ibrahim Malla, by Adoum Yacoub - who knows how many there are?"
