IRB – Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (Author)
According to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Swaziland in Washington, DC, the following is the procedure for obtaining a Swaziland citizenship: The applicant must
complete [an] application form (form 01/109) with the following attachments: fingerprints, birth certificate, registration or naturalization certificate, two recent clear, unmounted and identical passport size photographs, taken full face [and an] application fee (ibid.).
The applicant must then "submit the application to the Immigration Department, which is responsible for issuing passports" (ibid.).
On the issue of dual citizenship, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Swaziland stated that
the Kingdom of Swaziland, according to the Immigration Act, does not recognize dual citizenship. Any applicant for Swazi citizenship must go through the Citizenship Advisory Committee (CAC) after which the Minister of Home Affairs issues a Certificate of Citizenship at the CAC's recommendation.
The applicant is required to renounce his/her natural citizenship and take an oath to respect the laws of Swaziland.
The Kingdom of Swaziland has not entered into an agreement with any country regarding dual citizenship (24 Apr. 2003).
