According to a 1991 study entitled
Hungarian Minorities in the Carpathian Basin, the population of
Turulung ( Túrterebes in Hungarian) was 2,635, and 72.1 per
cent of this population was of Hungarian origin. Its landmarks :
the Perényi Masion and the Roman Catholic Church.
Information on the size of police force and
ethnic composition of police force could not be found among the
sources consulted by the Research Directorate.
This Response was prepared after
researching publicly accessible information currently available to
the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is
not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any
