"Spring Thunder", a dissident group; activities in Shenyang, China; whether any members were reported convicted in October 1998 [CHN32637.E]

No reports of a dissident group called "Spring Thunder" could be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate. In correspondence with the Research Directorate, a representative of the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Democratic Movements in China could not confirm the existence of an organization with the name "Spring Thunder" (10 Aug. 1999).

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
