The Socialist Party of Albania (Partia Socialiste ë Shqipërisë - PSSH) was created in 1991 as a successor to the communist Party of Labour of Albania (PLA). Fatos Nano was elected as chair of the PSSH (Tiscali 2004; Encyclopedia 2004; United States 4 Oct. 1993).
