Gunmen Kidnap Nine Guards In Afghanistan

November 30, 2010
The Afghan Interior Ministry says gunmen have kidnapped nine security guards working for a road construction company in Kabul Province.

The gunmen attacked the guards today in Sarobi district, some 45 kilometers east of the capital, Kabul.

The Interior Ministry said nine guards were kidnapped and nine escaped, without revealing the name of the construction company or the nationalities of the guards.

The attack came the same day that an Afghan border policeman killed six U.S. soldiers during a training session in a remote area near the Pakistan border, in what appeared to be the deadliest attack of its kind in at least two years.
