Information on the birthplace of Samir Geagea, former head of the Lebanese Forces [LBN18213.E]

According to an APS Diplomat Fate of the Arabian Peninsula report, Samir Geagea was born in 1952 in Besharri, a town on the Qadisha gorge in north Lebanon approximately 64 km. northeast of Beirut (27 Apr. 1992).

A United Press International report of 27 April 1994 stated earlier this month the Lebanese army imposed a siege around Geagea's house in his birthplace village of Ghidras, 22 km. northeast of Beirut.
